Welcome to my blog. I am a physician (M.D., not D.O.) in private practice in a medium sized town, specialized in Radiology, the acquisition and interpretation of diagnostic imaging studies. I have been practicing for a couple decades, and have various opinions and insights which I believe would be of interest to those who trust their lives and well-being to physicians.
Medicine tends to be very mysterious to those not in the profession, mainly due to its complexity. Individual concepts are not complex (not like mathematics or physics are complex), but the actual practice is difficult to grasp because of the large number of factors which much be considered, even in the simplest situations. Medical training is difficult only because of the huge volume of material which must be learned.
Because of this complexity, many non-physicians have a very skewed view of medicine, and of doctors. It is my hope to shed some light on things, in a way which is not to be found anywhere else. I believe that I have no delusions about medicine or doctors, and will be able to cut through the crap and give you the straight story.
Stay tuned, and stay healthy.
